Kick Off National Safe Boating Week With A Safe Boating Class & Events

         A dynamic one-day program taught by the Harris Chain Sail & Power Squadron & Lake County Sheriffs Office.  A "must do" for new boaters and an excellent refresher for experienced boaters. It is State Approved for those 21 and under to receive a Florida State Boater ID card. Will be held on Saturday May 17, 2008 at the Leesburg Cultural Arts Building. Located in Venetian Gardens on the corner of Dixie (Hwy 44) and Dozier Circle. The course starts 9 AM.          The Squadron will partner with SEA//TOW Lakes Division offering FREE Courtesy Vessel Safety Inspections on Sunday, May 18, 2008 Noon till 3:00 PM at The Venetian Gardens boat ramp. SEA//TOW will be giving a free 60-day towing membership with each vessel inspected. Come by Land or by Sea but be there. Harris Chain Sail & Power Squadron’s Wednesday, May 21, 2008 7:00 PM General Meeting at The American Legion Building 101 South Street, Eustis FL will feature Sergeant Robert Hornsby with the Lake County Sheriffs Office Marine Unit speaking on boater education and safety for the upcoming boating season.  

US Power Squadron University and WEST MARINE will present- VHF & VHF/DSC Marine Radio Seminar Thursday, May 29, 2008 6:30 PM at the Leesburg Cultural Arts Building.
