Boy Scout Troop 849 Altamonte Florida teamed up with the Harris Chain Sail & Power Squadron to have it's Scout's obtain many of the requirements for the Boating Merit Badge.
The Scouts attended our America's Boating Course rev 3 and recieved the best safe boating instruction in the entire county. After passing the rigorous final examination, the boys prepared for the water session.
The next day session included:
> Observing how to load and unload a boat from a trailer.
> Proper fitment of life jackets.
Hands on - Boat opertional skills
> Docking and docking of several styles of power boats.
> Recognizing and navigating into a simulated harbor using Red / Green Buoys.
> Open water serpentine maneuver with loop around
> Man over Board MOB life ring toss
> Open Water Run
All The Scouts preformed as if they were seasoned veterans.
